Who needs the mainstream media when Jon Stewart can engage in a level-headed discussion about our Middle East Foreign Policy?

Jon Stewart and Resa Aslan discuss foreign policy in Iraq and Iran, including arguing against the necessity of a first strike against Iran or the likelihood of a Baghdad-centered emerging Caliphate.

Too bad Comedy Central is the only network engaging in discussions like this...

Mobile phone users enlisted to monitor Nigeria's presidential election

Personal Democracy Forum (PdF) reports on the use of a mobile phone text messaging system used in yesterday's presidential election in Nigeria. This appears to be a terrific innovative way to monitor and report on international elections using the ubiquitous technology of cell phones.
